1 Assemble computing devices

• 1.1Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) processes and workplace procedures for a given work area are identified, obtained and applied

• 1.3Advice is sought from work supervisor to ensure work is coordinated effectively with others

2 Install operating system and application software

• 2.1WHS/OHS risk control measures and workplace procedures for carrying out the work are followed
• 2.2Hardware requirements are determined for operating system to be installed in accordance with workplace procedures and application instructions
• 2.3Computer start-up instructions for installation of the operating system, drivers and network interfaces to default configuration are followed in accordance with workplace procedures and application instructions
• 2.4Application software is installed to default configuration in accordance with application instructions
• 2.5Authentication, data security, integrity, antivirus and logins are implemented on computing device
• 2.6Computer shutdown procedures are followed
• 2.7Quality checks are carried out in accordance with workplace procedures and application instructions
• 2.8Workplace procedures for referring non-routine events to immediate supervisor for directions are followed in accordance with workplace procedures

3 Test computer operation

• 3.1WHS/OHS risk control measures and workplace procedures for carrying out the work are followed in accordance with workplace procedures and instructions
• 3.2Computer start-up procedures are followed and checked in accordance with application instructions
• 3.3Computer network operating system and application programs are tested and operated correctly in accordance with application instructions and workplace procedures

• 3.6Faults are rectified in accordance with workplace procedures and application instructions

4 Complete work and report

• 4.1WHS/OHS risk control work completion measures and workplace procedures are followed
• 4.2Work area is cleaned and made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
• 4.3Work supervisor is notified of the completion of work in accordance with workplace procedures
